Carole Nash asked us how it could celebrate the achievements of its brand ambassador, Superbike World Champion, Jonathan Rea. We found that no biker had been shortlisted for BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2017 for 10 years, so we decided to try and get Rea on to it – and see if he could win!
We launched a petition calling for the nation’s support which we delivered to the BBC.
The petition gained 6,000 signatures within 48 hours and passed 10,000 signatures in just one month.
In November, Jonathan was announced as runner up just behind Sir Mo Farah, but ahead of the likes of Anthony Joshua and Chris Froome.
