Pre-pandemic, Plastock made retail sales units. When lockdown hit, shops shut, orders dried up and a change in business model was needed. When Plastock started making protective screens, they asked Ready10 to drive awareness and to “create something crazy”. And so we did.
The Tube Tube was a 360-degree mobile, protective plastic shield for commuters that captured the imagination. And available on the Plastock website for £95.
The Tube Tube caught fire with media, and – as the brief required – quickly. 50 pieces of linked coverage landed in two days, before it was doing the rounds internationally and a review of the product was the number two video on the BBC News homepage.
Traffic was driven back to the Plastock site via linked earned media coverage, and direct to the wider Covid-19 protective screen offering.
In three days it sold out, requiring Plastock to quadruple their staff numbers to cope with demand and new orders for plastic screens.
